Me inicie en el trabajo de la pasta de caña de maíz a la edad de 7 años, ayudando a mi abuelo Rafael Guzmán, a limpiar la caña y a preparar la pasta, para posteriormente sacarla al sol para su secado.
Se requiere de mucho cuidando para que la humedad no la afecte, sobre todo en el tiempo de lluvias, ya que en esta época se vuelve casi imposible trabajar la caña.
A mi bisabuelo Don Baldomero Guzmán (mi papá Baldo), lo veía trabajar la caña los fines de semana, ya que todos los sábados lo encontrábamos en el camino al ir a comprar atole y siempre nos invitaba para almorzar con él y con mi mamá Polo (mi bisabuela Apolonia).
De todos ellos no solo aprendí a trabajar la pasta de caña, pues también aprendí a curarme con plantas ya que en este trabajo es muy común sufrir heridas por lo afilado de las cascaras de la caña y es realmente sorprendente ver lo bien que funsionan.
En el año de 1993, fallece mi abuelo, y al año siguiente muere mi bisabuelo.


Actualmente curso el tercer semestre de la Licenciatura en Artes Visuales de la Universidad de las Artes en la ciudad de Aguascalientes.
